Using 3G to connect to Internet

First you will need the hard ware.

1. 3G Mobile Phone (look at the 3G phone list on this blog)

2. 3G DATA Card.


Mobile phone as Modem

Connecting your 3G phones to your computer or laptop via Bluetooth, USB, serial cable or infrared will allow the phone to act as a modem.

It is only pairing the phone to your computer using the above method, as simple as that and you are online. Make sure the setting on the phone are correct to the network your are on.

Data Card.

Most laptops have a card slot that accept PC card. Slot the card with a 3G-sim card on to your laptop. Install the PC card software and check on the right setting.

The Data Card modem provides the highest transfer rates and the easiest to setup. It allows you to use your phone even while you are still online.

What ever the transfer rates are it all boil down to the network. How congested the network is at the time of us.
